As an AEB customer, you are using one or more AEB Engines. Today we have some good news for you. Until the end of the year at the latest, we will migrate all Java Web Start-based applications to a new HTML5-based user interface.
The positive feedback from customers whose applications have already been migrated successfully proves: AEB has made the right step in the further development of the applications.
We are pleased to present you with a modern and intuitive user interface design, a browser-independent HTML5 web application without Java, and new comfort features.
See for yourself: All details about the new interface can already be found in the AEB Customer Portal: Here are some useful links:
>> Get started quickly: The new look & feel of the HTML5-based interface
>> Schedule for the migration: Dates when the HTML5 interface is available for your application

In September 2018, Oracle will release Java 11 as the next long-term support version. According to the current plans by Oracle, this version will no longer include Java Web Start. As soon as users upgrade from Java 8 to a higher version, access to Java-Web-Start-based applications will no longer work.
Our advice: Please avoid a Java upgrade from version 8 to versions 9, 10, or 11 until you start using the new HTML5 interface.
In addition, Oracle has announced that public updates for Oracle Java SE8 that will be published after Jan-uary 2018 will only be available with commercial licenses for companies. We recommend to customers having their own engine installations (such as AES Engine, Carrier Integration, VCP, etc.) to adhere to the schedule proposed by AEB and to install the service packs for starting the parallel operation as well as the final migration to HTML5 as soon as possible.
As soon as an application is migrated, AEB will inform and remind you via a pop-up message in the soft-ware as well as by e-mail.
The migration does not apply to the interfaces of ASSIST4 and the SAP® Plug-ins.
As usual, we have summarized this information in a service news that can be found in the AEB Customer Portal.
