Changes to data transmission technology for UPS and DHL

The transport service providers UPS and DHL have informed us about mandatory changes in data transmission technology.

As of December 31, 2017, UPS will only accept security protocols TLS1.1 and TLS1.2 from all customers.

DHL will migrate the DHL-internal FTP servers to sFTP individually per customer. DHL will inform all customers individually about their migration time limit.

Transport service provider connections via ASSIST4 Carrier Engine already fulfill these requirements. There is no further need for action.

Transport service provider connections via ASSIS4 Dispatch Management require a corresponding update.

AEB has implemented the requested developments in the participating communication software for ASSIST4. In the context of your user agreement, the software is available to you for download free of charge as usual. Service costs will occur for the update and configuration as well as the communication test to bring the extended software into production.

If you are a customer in the AEB data center, no costs will be incurred for this. For on-site installations, AEB offers a paid service.

Details about the migration to the new security protocols TLS1.1 and TLS1.2 at UPS

AEB will make the necessary changes in your system between September 2017 and mid-December 2017 at the latest. We will inform you in a separate letter about the exact date.

The necessary changes will be made in the background, your production environment will remain unaffected. On the migration date, you can expect a downtime of 30 minutes at maximum, either between 12:00 am and 1:00 pm or 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. We will contact your IT representative beforehand to specify the maintenance date as well as the technical requirements.

Details about the migration to sFTP for DHL

DHL will contact you directly with a binding time limit. Once you have received this, please contact AEB to schedule and implement the migration.

If you need both migrations, the DHL migration can be prepared technically when the UPS migration is implemented. As soon as DHL contacts you, contact AEB again. This makes it possible to bring the DHL migration into production and complete it before the deadline.

If your ACMS has version 2.6 and at least patch level 24, the necessary changes will be made in the background, your production environment will remain unaffected. On the migration date, you can expect a downtime of 30 minutes at maximum, either between 12:00 am and 1:00 pm or 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. We will contact your IT representative beforehand to specify the maintenance date as well as the technical requirements.

If your ACMS has a version level or patch level lower than ACMS 2.6, patch level 24, you must update it to the latest version. If this is the case, we will coordinate the implementation individually.

To find out your ACMS version level and patch level, go to the Office – Installation and open the System info sheet.
