On February 1, the economic partnership agreement JEFTA with Japan has entered into force.

For Origin & Preferences and Supplier Declaration Exchange, AEB will roll out the agreement with Japan including the list rules with the February 2019 service pack.

AEB will only receive the complete list rules from Bundesanzeiger Verlag in the week following February 1. They will then be subjected to basic tests and checked for schematic changes. AEB will provide the inclusion of the EU Japan Agreement including the list rules with the February 2019 service pack. It will then be possible to request and issue Japan on the supplier’s declaration and to perform calculations for Japan.

Note: We would like to point out that specifying, maintaining, and processing the origin criterion will only become possible at a later date with a separate service pack. The exact time for release planning also depends on the further course of the UK’s withdrawal process from the EU. We will inform you as soon as we have planning certainty. For the transition period, a manual process must be used to specify or pass on the origin criterion. The JEFTA leaflet of the German Customs authorities allows separate amendments to be made.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.

For customers who use the plug-in for SAP®, an up-to-date service pack is already available for download from the Customer Portal. This transport includes the changes for the JEFTA Trade Agreement within the SAP® plug-in. Prerequisite for the installation is the November 2018 build.

Please note: Declarations of origin require two additional pieces of information – the origin criteria used and the name of the exporter. These can be populated using the BAdI '/AEB/WU_DOOI_CHK_01'.
